Is it possible to be both excited and terrified?  That's exactly where I find myself now as, the first week of next month, I will be teaching art classes.  O_o

It just sort of happened.  I will be teaching art to kids that are home schooled.  Their mom's don't know how to do it and I just happened to go crazy when I saw a comic one of the girls did.  She's already a better drawer than I am, but I have been helping where I can.  Her mother said I did more to help her than the other art class she took, which was for an entire course, and asked if I would be interested.  I hesitated but, at the same time, I never had kids and I would love to see these kids develop their skills and, more importantly, not get molded into believing there is only one good way to do art.  I don't want them stifled in that way.

My first class is teaching color theory, which my own teacher, DarthFar has always had a nightmare helping me understand and will probably find hilarious.  That and light sources.    But as I am going to be teaching, I now have to practice art more which is a good thing.  So I am very busy lately.  I'm working on art projects so hopefully will have some new things to upload soon.

AND, if you have any suggestions, please feel free to post them here.  I'll take all the help I can get.  

Well, I knew I had sleep apnea...at least I am pretty sure.  My dad had it and I wake up gasping for air, and I have a deviated septum, so it's a pretty good bet.  But I have also realized I have sleep paralysis.  I. Hate. That.

I have heard some horror stories about sleep paralysis and what people 'thought' was happening to them, and I am very glad that I don't have it like that.  My paralysis is usually accompanied by me not being able to breathe.  So I am trying to force myself to wake up so I can take a breath but nothing will move.  These occurred  rarely but, tonight, 3 times, one after the other, and now I don't want to go to sleep.

Yuck.

Anyone else have that?

I love The Sims, always have.  Well next month "Pets" is FINALLY coming for Sims 3 and I'm super excited.

Okay, perhaps that wasn't worth mentioning but I have nothing else going on...<.<

So yes, my mom has Alzheimer's and I've been her caregiver for over a year now.  It's a horrible, horrible disease - but you have to find the humor when possible.  Thought I would share a short conversation I had with my mother yesterday.  By the way, she is almost deaf as well.

I try to give my mom small jobs to keep her busy because she wants to feel needed.  I had some hamburger that needed to be cooked and figured she could do that for me, and she did.  Then this conversation happened:

Mom:  What are you going to use the hamburger for?
Me:     Tacos
Mom:   Hot dogs?
Me:      [after thinking about it a sec]  Yes, I am going to make hot dogs with hamburger...

Cue hysterical laughter from both of us.  

And geez I hate not having a subscription, I want to showcase some art!  I have actually been on dA for over 4 years but had to change my name, let's not even talk about that, and I know so many artists that are wonderful and, well, dang, it's just annoying, lol.

Okay, I'm finally doing it, I'm reading Wicked.  I just fell into a bonanza of books, I'm so freaking excited, because they were dirt cheap - I'll talk about these books later.

But right now, the first book I am reading is Wicked: The Life and Times Of The Wicked Witch of the West

I'm very excited about it.  I've heard such good things and I want to know for myself.  So far I've been having a hard time putting it down, and that's a good thing.  The last book I read that everyone talked about was Twilight and, I have to tell you, I was less than impressed.  Seriously.  I still have to write some blogs about that, but I digress.  I'm reading Wicked and I will let you know how I like it.
